Morning All!

Baby Elizabeth Anne (Beth) was born at 0310 hrs on Monday 2nd August!

We're still in total shock that we've got a girl, our house has never had anything pink in it before!

I had been 2-3 cm dilated since Friday, so when my backache got worse on Sunday I decided to go into hospital. I was 4cm dilated. After 4 hrs I was STILL 4cm dilated, but I kind of thought so as the contractions weren't painful at all. The MW broke my waters at 10pm. At 2am the contractions had intensified, but still okay with Entonox and I was 6-7cm dilated. The Doc said they would examine me in 2hrs and perhaps give me syntocin (sp?)!! However, Beth had other ideas as within the hour I was pushing...... 3 pushes and out she came! It was so quick in the end.

Just had a small tear needing 3 stitches.

Breastfeeding is coming along nicely although I'm VERY SORE!

Thank goodness that's all over!!

I must admit I was puzzled about why you were posting about employment problems at the same time as having a baby

handlemecarefully · 01/08/2005 10:36

Me too throckenholt...and was thinking, at least she doesn't have to put up with her boss/dad any longer as she'll be on mat leave!!!

spacecadet · 01/08/2005 12:34

Happy Birthday Beth

It's a funny day isn't it toothy? I know i was happy one minute at my little girl being so big and grown up and then nearly in tears the ext because she's not a baby anymore Although, she'll always be my baby

oliveoil · 02/08/2005 09:25

Happy birthday!!!!!

No way is she walking , my little lardy arse doesn't even crawl yet!!! Just like her big sis was, she didn't walk till 18 months.

(PS - phew, on your other thread xxxx)

Toothache · 02/08/2005 09:28

SC - I look at my 4 yr old ds and still tell him he's my baby! He protests loudly but I don't care.

OO - Ds didn't crawl at all then walked at 14mths when we took his baby walker off him. Dds baby walker was left at Granny's house one day and we never bothered collecting it. 2 weeks later..... she's off!!!

I HAVE A TODDLER!!!!
