our dd was born at 6.49 on Monday morning at home weighing in at 10lb 8oz. my midwives were wonderful and i wholeheartedly recommend giving birth at home and in water!

thank you so much everyone for these lovely messages

i can't recommend water birth enough. the water is so relaxing, makes it easy to move about into different positions, gives support etc... i've got a miniscule tear which didn't need stitches.

have to say the whole undercarriage is still quite sore! i lost quite a bit of blood after the birth and have been on "bed rest" since the birth - a few more days to go.

am finding that b/f is not like riding a bike! it has not been quite so easy to pick it up again as i thought...

found this birth a wonderful experience compared to ds's birth.

if anyone needs a recommendation for independent midwives in s or w london, i couldn't recommend annie francis and teresa arias from s. london independent midwives highly enough. they have been fantastic.

my little girl is beautiful!

thanks again every one for your kind wishes

The headline in the Review section of yesterday's Indie was about 'Her Serene Highness'
