How soon did you tell your loved ones?

Just that ...
I am so, so excited to tell just my closest family - my siblings are visiting this weekend and we were planning a big boozy do, and they will find it odd I'm not drinking and will be thrilled (I'm pretty sure!!).
DH and I already have one DC and I didn't go public til 14 weeks last time because I was so anxious and superstitious. But it meant less time to be excited with my loved ones and I think they felt a bit sad that I hadn't trusted them with the news.
However ... I am very early ... very early. I'm only 4+3, so conceived 2.5 weeks ago. Has been confirmed by doctor and blood tests, and the doctor said I should feel ok telling people if I want to, and not to worry about waiting.
How soon did you tell your closest? And why did you tell early or wait?

I think like most things baby related, you have to do whats right for you and your DH. Dont be pressured if you dont want to but of course if you do want to then spread the joy!

I am 8+3 and we told our parents last weekend (with a very american style pretend to take a photo and tell them on video trick) was the best thing we done, i have watched the video about 200 times since haha.

We have decided to tell our siblings (all older with there own children) next week but not the kiddies. and then we are going to wait until the scan to tell friends and the rest of the family.

We now have our parents to talk to openly about it and get excited with...

Hiding it is so hard especially with parties and weddings but its only for a few weeks (although seems like a life time doesnt it)

to wrap it up i think - Its amazing news so tell who ever you like if you feel like its the right time.

I told my close and rather large family at 5+3 and also my closest friends. I was excited, i wanted them to share that with me. If anything had gone wrong I would also want them to share that and support me.
as it turns out ive had horrendous morning sickness and have barely left the house for 5 weeks and the support from family & friends has been invaluable. Do whatever is best for you x

I told my close siblings and was glad to have done so. I became extremely lethargic and they would've thought something was quite wrong with me! Like you, LJFM2B, I played a little game with them all and it was hilarious and we had so much fun.

LJFM2B how did your siblings react? Did you do something fun with them too?

Both our families were over the moon, but unfortunately soon after we told them we had to tell them the devastating news that we were miscarrying.

With it being something that has no reason i think its possibly the worst thing i have had to deal with, yesterday i had my last hospital appointment and its been confirmed that all has come away and there is no risk of infection. So after 2 weeks of going through it i am going to be strong and close that book and hope that another opens for us soon.

For some horrible reason this baby wasn't meant to be, i went through the motions of feeling silly for being so excited but after a little while i realised that im one of many who were just so happy to be pregnant.

I wish you all well with your bumps and little ones when they arrive happy and healthy and i hope to be joining again soon. x

We told friends and what not (facebook) after 12 weeks. However, we found out i was 5/6ish weeks pregnant around christmas, we would want to tell family in person and it was the only time they would actually be together so around then! I think it would've killed us to keep it inside though as we are both very close with our families! Plus, if anything bad happens (i ran through every scenario in my head!!) you have people who can support x

I immediately tell to my hubby about my first pregnancy. We both didn't believe when it happens. Because in first test, it was very faint positive line. We tested again after two weeks. The results were positive. We celebrated it in memorable way. First experience was always a memory. We waited for it too long. Every body around us asked why we are not starting family. Some suggested the doctor to check if any fertility issue. Before pregnancy, I was went through vaginal infection. I was so hurting. I thought it would affect my pregnancy and I couldn't become mom. So depressed at that time. My hubby supported me a lot. Thanks for his cooperation.

I’m in the same position myself right now.

I’m 6 weeks and 4 days. And so so sick!!
I can’t get out of bed, I’m sick at least 5 Times a day and constantly nauseous.

I wanted to wait till 12 weeks but my
Partner says to tell family now due to how ill I am.

Really don’t know what to do!

I think it's best to tell those you are close to early on- especially if they are people you will look to for support if you were unfortunate enough to have an early mc. People often guess if you aren't drinking anyway.

I was 5 weeks, partner told his mum whilst she was in kitchen and she replied saying she already knew, she had guessed. She didn’t seem that excited considering the way she always told us she wanted us to have a baby. I told my mum by saying “I’m pregnant, you’re going to be a nan!” And hugging her and told my grandmother over the phone. we Then told friends when I was only 6 week which I regret as more and more people started to find out. I wish I’d just told close family then revealed to everyone else with the scan I posted on social media xx

I told my parents and friends a few days after I found out, sadly a week later I lost the baby, i was 6+5.
It was horrible telling everyone my news, I couldn't bear to tell my over the top overjoyed Mum so I gave the job to my dad.

This time we found out quite early and I only told my 2 best friends.
I had a private scan at 6+5 and all was good so I told my parents.
Had a nice diner with my close family at 12 weeks so I told them all then and gave my mum permission to tell people!
I'm now 14wks and I don't seem to be able to keep my mouth shut about it at every opportunity (I'm a bore) but I don't want anyone to put anything about it on Facebook.

I would have liked to have done the whole make a game and film it but I didn't feel right doing it after the last time
