Baby Ben finally makes an appearance

Bit late with this one but I am sure you will appreciate that finding time is a little difficult...!

A week late on 29th May, I woke at 7.00 am with period like pains which became progressively stronger throughout the day. I coped at home with a TENS machine for as long as I could as the hospital was closed to admissions (all you need to hear when you are in labour). We finally got in at 3.30 when I was gagging for gas and air. Being a fool I was going to try and avoid an epidural and got into the pool for what seemed like several hours. By 7cm I was screaming the place down and despite being told I should try and do without managed to get an epidural. It did not work at all and despite almost pleading with my life I was told that the aneathetists were all in theatre so I couldnt get a top up. I had no desire to push at 10cm and had to wait 30 mins. Although I still did not have a great urge to bear down the (rather bossy) midwife insisted I push. 40 mins later at 9.20 p.m. baby Ben appeared weighing in at 8lb 1oz. He is gorgeous and we are delighted to have a brother for our daughter. NEVER EVER AGAIN though!!!!!
