Isla (midle name to be agreed!). Born at 3:25am at home as planned. After a day or so of regular braxton hicks, it turns out that I made the same silly mistake as I did with DS thinking that I wasn't in labour as things were not consistent. Called the mw out at 11:30pm and I reckon she wasn't convinced I was in labour either... until she found I was 8cm dilated! Things felt slow from then onward but I must have done OK. mw's finally broke my waters at 3:19am as I was 10cm but nothing was happening. Then a 6 minute second stage. Forgot how sore that pushing thing was lol. No pain relief other than 2 paracetamol and a shot at TENS earlier on in the evening. Never got round to the birth pool and the G&A didn't really appeal when I was (jsut about!) coping. Do I get a badge or something for that . Suppose not! Mind you, breathing techniques were pretty powerful.

7lb 7oz so not the big baby I was told she would be! Fed like a pro... long may that continue. Grandparents have been round already to say hello. Can't recommend a homebirth enough - I paced every room in the house!

Hope her big brother likes her when he gets home from his other grans today!

Congratulations Suzi2. Very impressed with quick posting. Ihope last night went well with the whole family together. Big round of applause for lack of pain relief and a big yellow badge with ow written on it - how high is your pain threshold? Main thing is you're both safe and well though!!

sorkycake · 13/02/2007 19:35

So pleased for you suzi!
Beautiful name btw.
Powerful stuff that breathing isn't it?

suzi2 · 13/02/2007 20:47

Thanks everyone. She's perfect, fed ALL night... but perfect

My pain threshold isn't that good... I'm wincing going for a pee and still scared to do a poo lol. Not quite sure how I managed lol.
