Ryan Daniel was born on 7th december at 2.58pm, weighing 8lbs 11oz.
As he was 2 weeks overdue, i had to be induced. It all started out well, when i was assessed on the ante natal ward i was already 4cm dilated, so we were packed off to the delivery ward to have my waters broken, which had old meconium in it. within the hour i was in established labour, contracting every 4 mins.. i managed to stay mobile throughout and breathing my way through the contractions, we had music on and even managed to dance around the room for a bit!
After a couple of hours of this, very quickly it started to go a bit wrong unfortunately. Very quickly the pain became so bad i couldn't stand up any more, so i started on the gas and air. The midwife then assessed me again to see if i could have any more pain relief, and i was at 6cm. Midwife then checked baby's heartbeat and couldn't find it initially, but did eventually and it was very low. clips were put on his head and blood was taken and i was whisked off to theatre and given a general anaesthetic and Ryan was delivered by c-section.
All turned out to be very 'dramatic' in the end, but thankfully my gorgeous little boy is doing fine!
