Hi just about managed to get an october baby! Had a little boy on 31st October. Called him Owen and he weighed 7ib 10oz.
Waters broke at about 2pm (conveniently on toilet) - 3yo dd had followed me to loo as she is my shadow and I asked her to get daddy to which she replied I am busy decorating the bathroom for halloween mummy (with new found baby toys) get him yourself! So I shouted very loudly for DH to get some pads...
Had no pain at that point. Finally went to hosp at 7pm - contractions not too strong but only 4 mins apart. Nearly sent me home at 7.30 as was only 3-4cm dilated. Luckily I stayed and gave birth at 9.21pm.
Was very quick and intense (last one was about 3 days and don't remember much about it as constant gas + air for about 10 hours hahaha). Was v. lucid throughout, this time. Had a Tens machine - don't know if it helped towards the end or not - and had gas and air. 2nd degree tear so lots of stitches - think I used more gas and air for that bit than for the whole labour.
Came home yesterday and so far so good.
