Coriander73 welcomes baby Jack!!

Baby Jack was born Saturday morning at 11.08 by emergency section...weighing in at 8lb 10oz!
Brief rundown: I'd had a show & my waters broke last Friday evening...hospital wanted me in as have previous scar so needed monitoring etc. After 12 hours of stop start contractions, baby passing a meconium poo & me with ZERO (yep zero!) dilation it was decided that an emergency section was needed to get him out. Just as well as he had the cord around his neck plus his arm on his head so even in my fevour to have a VBAC realised that it was the right thing to do....the wonderful MW said she knew how much I wanted to try for a VABC but it wasn't going to happen as he'd have got extremely distressed. On the plus side...what a difference it makes being awake!!! It was really emotional hearing him cry when he came out & being able to see him just 15 mins after he was born as opposed to 5 hours with DD
Despite convincing myself he was a she (!!) & being worried that I'd be somehow upset at having a boy, I am totally & utterly besotted with him....I feel blessed to have two beautiful children

Jack is a lovely name, I expect his big sister is feeling very proud

Coriander73 · 21/09/2006 16:39

Thanks for all your kind wishes

Jack is doing really well..if only he'd sleep during the night as well as he does during the day!!! His big sister has taken it all really well...if a little too well in that she wants to help with everything!!!

I'm shattered but very very happy..if I can work out how to put on a piccie I'll do it asap
