Well done, happy news!

intergalacticwalrus · 08/09/2006 19:07

home safe and sound!!!!

having to perfect one handed typing btechnique once again. all is well, bfing is going nicely, and he feeds rather well, no snacking, which is a world away from how ds1 was!

when i can be arsed, i'll post a pic of little eoin.

Sophiev73 · 08/09/2006 20:37

btw did you get your cbeebies sorted? How is your ds1 handling it all?

intergalacticwalrus · 09/09/2006 08:02

DS1 has been surprisingly good. He keeps cuddling and kissing DS2, but we will see how we get on today, as this is our first full day at home together.

CBeebies is intermittent, but as long as we can watch Big Cook Little Cook (DS1's fave programme, and a guarantee of peace) we are ok.

Sophiev73 · 09/09/2006 08:05

Lovely. Your ds will be great I know it - I'm still amazed at how relaxed mine is around ds2, despite being, erm, 'boisterous'... As if to curse myself I now can't get my tv to work at all and have resorted to 'Naughty noonoo'dvd... much prefer big cook, am with you ds on that one.

intergalacticwalrus · 09/09/2006 08:20

A freind of mine told me that when his children were small, he found his 3 yaer old DS with his newborn DD in a vice like stranglehold, and when he asked why he was doing that, his DS replied in a really deadpan voice; "I am giving her love"

He said it was like a scene from The Shining

misdee · 09/09/2006 08:22

congratulations!!

Sophiev73 · 09/09/2006 08:24

pmsl! That would indeed be a little strange... The oddest thing to date has been ds licking ds2's cheeks (on face!) I guess to see what he tasted like! - and I thought he would be much more interested in my breastfeeding which he just finds hilarious instead!

intergalacticwalrus · 09/09/2006 08:31

DS1 is obsessed with DS2's ears and eyes, and shouts "boobie" in a loud voice whnever I feed DS2.

I don;t think it would be a good idea to leave them in a room together alone just yet. Poor DS2 gets shoved in a moses basket upstairs whenever he's happy.

jabberwocky · 09/09/2006 08:33

Congratulations!

Sophiev73 · 09/09/2006 08:35

I bet ds1 would be ok with him... Took me a while to feel confidant about it but left them together after a few weeks. Also have you bought ds1 a doll? It was a masterstroke by a friend of mine and we've never looked back! Enjoy your baby today.

intergalacticwalrus · 09/09/2006 08:36

Yes, we have a doll, but DS likes throwing it across the room.

Sophiev73 · 09/09/2006 08:38

lol. ok maybe not then. How are you healing btw? I was v impressed by the speed of recovery after an elective c/s - certainly much easier than forceps for ds1!

Flamesparrow · 09/09/2006 08:39

Oooh missed this!!! Congratulations!!!

intergalacticwalrus · 09/09/2006 08:44

Heling is going OK. Had an emergency CS last time, and felt like poo for weeks. Am up and about a lot more than last time. I'm just making sure I keep taking the drugs.

Sophiev73 · 09/09/2006 08:47

Yes yes to drugs - they are marvellous - after ds1 i just got paracetemol - I take stronger drugs than that for period pain! Also when I went to chemist for top-up drugs I got so many I've still got them in my cupboard 9 weeks later and the docs even offered to have someone send them round... Hooray!

coffeeandcake · 10/09/2006 10:54

congratulations!

laneydaye · 10/09/2006 10:54

IGW, I was following you on the 'FFS help me get this baby out' thread. Did you try any of the tips given and if so, which ones worked???

I am due on Saturday and V fed-up!!!

CheesyFeet · 12/09/2006 14:14

Congratulations IGW!

Missed this last week, I was away.

Any pics yet?

MamaG · 14/09/2006 20:51

I missed this! Many congratulations chuck - off to find a pic now!

intergalacticwalrus · 18/09/2006 12:34

Flumpybumpy,

Apologies if this is a bit late, hopefully, you will have had the baby by now!

The only thing that worked in the end was a planned C Section! It wasn't for want of trying, believe me. Mind you, DS1 wasn't in a hurry to arrive either. Grrr

Good luck!
