I am very proud to announce the birth of our baby daughter, Julia Kirsty, who arrived by C-Section on Friday 18th August, weighing a whopping 5lb 2oz (2.33kg) In common with all babies ever born, she is the most beautiful baby in the whole world!
I had planned a VBAC, but it wasn?t to be, as little Julia was IUGR and being constantly monitored during my pregnancy, in fact every day for the 3 days leading up to the section, as I also watched my bump getting worryingly smaller and smaller, due to the fluid disappearing (in fact, the anaesthetist put a name to this condition ? ogliohydraminos).
I was very pleased with the care I received at hospital both during and after the section (St Peter?s) ? the theatre staff were lovely and all of them introduced themselves to us first (so much nicer than when I had my em-section) and I got to hold my baby very soon after she was born, which made all the difference.
Julia is latching on well and had been feeding every hour for the last two days until my milk finally came in (hurrah!) Currently, she?s sound asleep, in fact, she?s sleeping like a baby!
