My new baby nephew arrived last night 12.09am by emergency csection 2 days overdue.
It was a bit touch and go for a while, SIL went into hospital as she'd not felt baby moving, she went on a trace and there was no movement detected for 2 hours and an extremely irrativ heartbeat so it was decided they would break her waters - once they were broken menconium was found straight away so it was decided she needed to go in for an emergency csection. Baby Ben had the cord wrapped around his neck twice and under his arm so was quite distresssed. Haveheard this morning that the crash team were on stand by for when the baby was born and they actually had to spend 10 minutes working on his breathing before he was given the all clear. Aparantly the registrar was considering knocking SIL out as he was so concerned about how the baby may be and she was obviously extremely concerned and anxious.
Anyway, he is here now - safe and sound. Weighed 7lb 6oz and has a little scrunched up nose apparently. AM off to see him this afternoon
