Well after a very long Latent Phase of labour DS2, Leo, arrived on Tuesday 27th June 2006 at 16.25hrs, weighing 8lb 3.5oz.
Labour started properly at 2am, stayed at home until 2pm and then went into hospital. Was 7-8cms dilated at this stage but I was on the monitors as they were concerned about the heart rate, wanted to move me to a more clincal part of the birth unit but told them I wanted to get up, moved onto my side then onto all fours, much to the displeasure of midwives who wanted to keep a trace of baby's heart rate and with that movement had the most incredible need to push, expressed this wish with "I need to do a poo" and then the midwives decided to go with it and keep me where I was, after a few pushes Leo was born. It was all very quick at the end but very controlled and the most amazing experience. I had no pain relief not even gas and air so am very proud of myself.
Leo is feeding well and the Wellsies are all very happy, although DS1 is trying to work out ways of bumping his little brother off

Well done Wellsie - especially getting onto all fours . That prelabour phase definitely was doing something since you were well in labour when you went in. Congratulations and welcome to Leo
