Anchovies not so little arrival!

Baby Lewis was born on Friday afternoon by planned caesarean. And they were right (for once) about him being big!

The section itself was fine - even despite the spinal taking nearly an hour to be put in, the surgeon and his team leaving for an emergency whilst I was on the table and not coming back for half an hour and then the spinal wearing off 40 minutes before the end. I bet not many people have the pleasure of a cs using gas and air, I didn't tell them quite how much it was hurting cos I was desperate not to be put to sleep!

Baby Lewis was finally born at 16.42 and weighed an impressive 10 pounds 5 ounces.

We are both at home now and doing really well, my recovery has been brilliant, I feel great. Lewis is feeding really well and despite my worries about breastfeeding a big baby before my milk came in again, we managed it fairly easily. He is an absolute expert at feeding, he's doing brilliantly (despite being given a pair of footballs to feed from!) Oh and even better, only two night time feeds and after these we're both back in bed after 20 minutes fast asleep! Hope it lasts!

Well done anchovies! Cannot imagine a CS with gas and air but I share your feelings about the GA so I can see how it would happen.

I am so pleased that Lewis is here safe and sound especially after your wories ealy on in the pregnancy.

I am envious of the breast feeding natural but in a good way! Smile You are so fortunate as recovering from the section is enough to worry about.
