PiccadillyCircus's little girl has arrived

Alice Charlotte was born on 20th September at 1:26pm, weighing 7lb 11oz, after a 6 hour labour.

She timed things very well, with contractions starting at about 7am after an all right night's sleep, and DH and I were able to eat breakfast before going off to hospital and getting there about 9am (in some amount of pain )

A combination of TENS machine, gas and air and diamorphine got me through and this time I experienced the feeling of pushing my baby out, having had forceps with DS. Complete pain while the head crowned which disappeared when she came out. DH and I had been convinced she would be a boy and were amazed that she was a girl .

We were able to share the experience with a student doctor who was watching her first birth - I think she enjoyed it as much as we did.

DS (22 months) seems to like her and brings her her bear when she cries .

We are all enjoying being a family of 4 - it just seems to feel very "right" .

Congratulations! Glad your family is now complete.

There are 22 months between my ds's - it's hard work at first, but worth it, and they're great pals now (4 and 2).
