I had a boy!

Waters broke at 3 am last Thursday night, whizzed off to hospital, baby Murray arrived at 9.10 on the Friday morning - it's his one week birthday today :) He was 8 pounds one and a half and is a perfect little blonde angel.

Labour pains were totally mind blowing, I
had gas and air and diamorphine. Crapped everywhere, didn't care. Forgot lovely nightie and gave birth in a random top I shoved on as we left the house, trousers and pants long discarded.

Stayed in hospital for 4 days as he wouldn't latch on, still a work in progress but getting there.

Midwives and staff at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary lived up to their 'angel' reputation and then some - I was humbled by and in awe of what they do.

Still in total shock about the whole thing really! He's gorgeous, totally gorgeous.

Midwife looked at my tummy yesterday to see how it's shrinking back and said 'good god girl, are you sure you even had a baby?!' which was very pleasing to hear - am nearly back in jeans on day 7. Not bad for an old bird of 39 like me!

Guys, if I can do this then trust me, anyone can do this. I am a mum! Holy shit!!!
