Posted by "DH" pp. Marina. Just to let you all know that Isabelle Jane arrived on Tuesday 5th at 10.15am by caesarian as planned, in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich -- 9lbs exactly.

After a couple of days in Special Care (precautionary procedure as Isabelle initially had a slightly lowered blood oxygen level) they are now both together. M is doing well but finding post-op recovery rather tough as before.

Thanks from the heart from this "DH" to all those whose continuing support, love and encouragement have helped us in recent months.

Am I the only one who has an odd liking for hospital food?

But even I get sick of it after a while - glad to hear you're out, Marina and enjoy your babymoon

jasper · 14/08/2003 22:22

Congratulations marina, and what a lovlely name.
Lucy123 I'm another fan of hospital food ( and hospitals in general )

Ailsa · 14/08/2003 23:14

Marina - have just got back from my hols so have missed all this excitement. What wonderful news! Many many congratulations to you all. You must be feeling so relieved and delighted to have a beautiful baby girl after all you have been through. Hope you are soon feeling much better. Love and best wishes xxxxx

kaz33 · 15/08/2003 21:18

What can I say but Congrats.

Marina · 16/08/2003 11:24

Mears, I think that may have been a big factor although you know how doctors loathe to admit that antibiotics can be jolly toxic
Because of my previous form I discover that I was given Augmentin i/v for three days post-surgery and as a precaution I was put on oral metronidazole (?) last Saturday. As my results came back clear for bacterial infection I took myself off these on Wednesday night and I am starting to feel better. Thanks for confirming my suspicions...they were enormous pills so I am hoping my system will soon be clear of them.

Hi Marina - don't have any time to look at Mumsnet anymore, but just logged in to get your news, and am thrilled for you, dh & ds. (Notice you've gone for the French spelling!) Many congratulations, and hope you're feeling 100% soon. Lots of love, Rx

Rhubarb · 22/08/2003 16:33

Missing you Rosy - hope you're ok! And Marina, can't wait to hear how you are doing!

Marina · 22/08/2003 17:31

Just nipped on to see how Katherine was doing and spotted some new messages here - good to hear from you, Rosy - and thanks for the kind thoughts everyone. Motherinferior, Boe, I think it would be lovely to meet up for a brew and a chat when I am a bit less zonked so will get in touch via Mumsnet, thanks
I am much better as far as the tummy is concerned, thanks, Rhubarb, and Isabelle is feeding well now although she may not win any medals for NCT-approved technique - we have some slurping to work on alas and she is getting windier than she should. She is almost back to her birthweight which is not bad considering she got nothing from me for the first two days and my milk only came in properly on Monday.
I seem to have hardly any time to log on and catch up on how everyone else is doing - a common problem with Mumsnetters who move from having one little one at home to two I suspect.
Dh is downstairs valiantly fending off Isabelle who is sucking away on his neck like a little lamprey so I must have a rapid trawl and sign off.

Anyway, many belated best wishes to Famille Marina

Twink x

P.S. my slurper started to improve after about 6 weeks, hope Isabelle is a faster learner.
