Trying to find songs for service - so hard, so sad.

My lovely Stepdad passed away last week and we have the funeral next week. DM has said that she would like to have songs played at the service on CD rather than an organist playing.
We need to find three pieces of music. One for arrival, one for a moment of thought and one at the end. She has chosen a special piece of music from their wedding for the end.
I'm a wreck typing this
DM has mentioned having a song by Enya. I've been listening to some and reading the lyrics, they are so sad. There are some truely beautiful ones but it's hard trying to find suitable ones.

So sorry to hear of your loss. What would you like the song to say?

I love Calling All Angels, by Jane Siberry with kd lang.

A friend of mine played 'you're my best friend' by queen at her DM's funeral and it was spot on

I'm not exactly sure. I'm trying to find a few things just to help take the weight of DM at the moment. I need to think on it a bit more.

There's a lovely setting by Purcell of some of the Song of Solomon. Was your stepdad religious? Is the idea of a deity calling him, gathering him up with love, appropriate? Ignore me if it's not!

Sorry for your loss.

Dear Sparkler,
How are you getting on this evening?

Does anyone have to sing with these songs? I only ask because one real mistake funeral organisers make is to have songs which are too high for anyone to sing while trying not to cry (throats close; it's awful).

Sorry I didn't get back to this thread. I'v been to busy. Just wanted to say thank to you all for your help. Mum has chosen the songs she wants now.
It's a struggle right now, but I'm sure we'll get there. x
