I was going to post this on Christmas Eve when I found out but didnt want to upset people as it is so very sad

Boy aged 6 dies in tractor accident on 23rd December

He lived with his 3 and 4 yo brothers on the family farm in a small welsh village called Bethlehem in South West Wales

He was in year 1 - his mother is his class teacher

Its a small local community here - everybody is crying

He was a part of the nativity performance in this welsh language programme filmed in Bethlehem as well

Seren Bethlehem

Its by the by but had we not moved a few miles south a couple of years ago my dd would have been in his class

I keep crying for his family and his friends

His poor family.

How very sad my thoughts are with his family. Did you know him personally? If so, I am very sorry for your loss.

LoveMyGirls · 28/12/2009 18:45

How awful

Dysgubach · 28/12/2009 18:48

I have to say we didnt know him personally as circumstances forced us to move a couple of years ago but I still have friends there who said the whole village is crying - which is so so sad

It will be front page news on our local paper on wednesday I expect

I feel so sorry for his younger brothers as they will obviously always associate christmas with their brothers death

Their poor parents too - No official details yet as to how he died, just that it involved the family farms tractor

I wanted to talk about a girl at school who died on Xmas Eve too, but didn't know how or where to start the conversation.

A girl in Yr9, who was in my English class most of last year and very well known by all, was involved in an horrific car crash on 18th December. She was transferred to Great Ormond Street. She never recovered.

Looking at her Facebook Memorial page, is heart breaking.

It's gonna be a tough first day back for lots of people across the country, in January.

Some of you might have seen on the news, a young lad of 13 who went missing on Christmas Eve drowned on his way home from the local skatepark. I didnt know him personally but live in a village next to his town and my dc's attend school there.

Almost inconceivable how these families must feel losing a child in such tragic circumstances. Christmas will never be the same for them again

Dysgubach · 28/12/2009 20:33

Two more very sad stories to add to the one I told

A child dying at any time of the year must be awful but at christmas much worse I should imagine

So sad.

My Grandparents lost a child just before Christmas 80 years ago and it still impacts on my family, especially at Christmas, even now.

Hulababy · 29/12/2009 10:28

Oh how sad ffor all the family and friends of these three children.
