I did this today and have very mixed emotions about it.

Certainly not regret, I would go again, but it was a very strange, emotional experience.

I have had a bad headache since.

it is odd isn't it?
definitely made things feel more real for me when my dad died. i guess that's a good thing...

get yourself a big glass of water and put your feet up.

TigerFeet · 24/03/2009 20:18

I didn't go when my Dad died, I couldn't face it. It's the one true regret I have.

It must be so hard now but in years to come you'll be glad you did.

Have a glass of water and some paracetemol and take care x

DevilsAdvocaat · 24/03/2009 20:24

tigerfeet, don't feel bad. although i'm glad i went, i also wish i hadn't. that last image isn't quite as they are in life iykwim.

you can't get rid of that picture ever, so it's a double edged sword imho.

TigerFeet · 24/03/2009 20:36

aww thanks DA

I never got a chance to say goodbye, he died suddenly, so I think that's where my regret probably lies.

Hope you're OK Disenchanted3

I'm glad I went to see my Grampa - it helped me to come to terms with the fact that he really had gone, as the body lying there was just that - a body. The spirit wasn't there anymore and he was very peaceful looking.

So sorry for your loss

ah disenchanted. i'm sorry if that upset you.

it's a real mixed bag though.

i would say if you did go, be glad you said goodbye.

if you didn't go, be glad you don't have that weird experience to remember.

neither is easy but you must look on the positives of the choice you made.

how's your head?

Disenchanted3 · 24/03/2009 21:35

Bit better

been on internet alot today so that doesnt help. but had to order something to wear for funeral.

I found it very hard to sleep first night he died, hope im not the same tonight.
