Could you make one at all? And then you could write exactly what you feel. There are some lovely poems
Sorry for your loss and for your mum. Christmas must be particularly hard.

Lovely idea, but go easy as she will be totally raw this first Christmas.

Will you be with her on teh day at all?

cutekids · 21/11/2008 11:12

oh yes.she'll be here with us.
not really into "making" a card....maybe a little inappropriate to say this but, well,we get on (Mum and I) but we're not that close.(I was much closer to my Dad.)Having said that, she adores the children. So,i'm looking for a verse which tells her that we feel for her but not a particularly slushy "you're the most wonderful person in the world" type thing.

where could i find some poems?
Because if I have a poem which relates to the circumstances,I could always get a personalised card printed. Are there any online? I found a couple of "grief" poems but they were more "from the person who's gone".

Don't know if this of any use to you. I found it and had itprinted on the order of service for my dear Step dad's funeral last year. It is more about coping with the loss than your own thoughts about your mum though.
I found it hereso you might be able to find something more suitable on the site.

You can shed tears that he is gone

Or you can smile because he has lived

You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back

Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left

Your heart can be empty because you can't see him

Or you can be full of the love that you shared

You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday

Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday

You can remember him and only that he is gone

Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on

You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back

Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.

rather than making a card, you can alter an existing one with your own words on moonpig
