Funeral Stream

Hi,

My dad died earlier this year and it was live streamed for those who couldn't attend. Especially for my paternal grandfather and aunt who was caring for him so my grandmother could say goodbye to her only son.

Has anyone paid to have the service indefinitely? Did you find it consoling or just better to focus on happier memories?

I have not inquired about the price yet which would be a factor also. Any input would be appreciated.

Did this for my mother in law during Covid. DH was given two dozen usb memory sticks with it download. Never watched it again.
Chucked them in the bin when DH died.

My Dad died of Covid and so I had a lot of restrictions for the funeral and attendees. I had it livestreamed and I did keep the link open for 28 days.
I tried watching it again but couldn't. It had served its purpose and wasn't something I wanted or needed to remember. I still had the orders of service and a copy of my eulogy.
The link lapsed and I didn't download it.

From memory though, to download it, it wasn't expensive- about £50 I think.

It's a very personal decision but I do think remembering happier times and moving forward helps with the grieving process.

Yes, I think I will put the money towards dining out at his favourite restaurant in his memory or a couple of drinks at his favuorite bars that we visted together.
