Just wondering if anyone else has had issues with RBS - my Mum died in Feb this year. All the court papers came through last week giving us the right to go into the bank and have the funds released from Mum's estate. My sister and I went in together and our solicitor advised that we simply had to present the document from the court and the bank would release the funds. Nope. We were told we had to open an executor account before they would release the funds. On the RBS bereavement website it says this is NOT a requirement to manage the estate. I don't know why they are being so difficult. It's been a horrendous year and we just wanted to get things resolved. I don't know where to go from here and would really appreciate any advice on how to get things sorted. Thanks

Have you messaged them on Facebook messenger? I find I get things resolved better that way

Hi, thanks for the message. I don't have a FB account. I called the bereavement line yesterday and at least spoke to a real person. But they said that they only have one of the documents that they need - yet last week the branch manager took copies of all our documents and would send them off to be dealt with. The manager also gave me her direct mobile number. I have tried to call her numerous times but nobody picks up. I left messages she has not replied to. We will just have to go back into the branch together (I live an hour's drive from the bank) as we just don't know what is going on!
