Order of Service booklets

Hi it’s my dads funeral next week , he didn’t have family so I’ve ordered minimum order of service booklets
There is a chance that maybe his neighbours might attend so I’m nervous that I won’t have enough
The thing is if there’s say a family of three shouldn’t they share a booklet , why take 3 home

Im thinking about asking the funeral director to give one per couple , is this bad etiquette ?
I wouldn’t want anyone to go without but these books aren’t cheap
Any advice please?

💐 Sorry for the loss of your dad.
A family sharing one is perfectly normal and acceptable in my experience.

Do you think it would look bad if I asked the funeral director to give one per couple ? Obviously there will be people attending on their own as well

@Duchess87 so sorry for your loss. Can a local printer do them for you?? We just put them on the seats at my mum's funeral x

I ordered a few extra just in case x

I’ve got the books already

have ordered what I think would be enough but you never know who might show up
The funeral director will hand them out I’m just wondering if it’s bad etiquette to give one per couple

Hmm I'd say each seat should have one, I've never been to a funeral where anyone has to share. They're not an expensive part of the funeral costs, or weren't when we arranged my father's funeral 3 years ago.

shellyleppard · 24/08/2024 19:58

I don't think so x

Ask for 2-3 to be kept back for you. That is what our FD did for us

At my wife's funeral the funeral director put the booklets out on the pews.

When I was arranging the funeral, the director quoted for 50 as a start. At first I thought maybe I'd order 100 just to be safe.

I was surprised how many people turned up. I knew she was popular, just hadn't realised how much.

I ended up ordering 250 (and still not enough)
