brother preventing me see my late mother

My mother has just passed away and my brother, who it the executor, is trying to prevent me from paying my last respects to my mother. Can he legally do this? The funeral home are not letting me see her.

Having had something similar in my own family I can confirm that the excutor does indeed have the right to do this, and to instruct the funeral directors accordingly (link below)

Obviously it doesn't usually come to this, so the obvious question is why

He is able to not allow you to see her. I arranged the funeral for my grandad which is coming up this week. My Mum went in to try and arrange to see him and they had to call me for permission which I begrudgingly gave (as Mum has dementia and will probably regret her choice). Has he said why he won’t allow you to see her?
