First period after Mc - the green light!

Got my first period after my miscarriage yesterday - 4 weeks and 2 days after my loss. Can't beleive that only 2 days after such a physical trauma my body can just snap back into its normal routine. Feels like the whole horrible expereince is well and truly behind me now. This means I've got the official approval of the medics to try again now. It is tempting but I don't want to be fretting about pg tests over christmas. Means my next period will be due at New Year and then........

Good luck Katherine - something tells me you just might be fretting over those tests at Xmas anyway!

Great news!

Also means yopu can have a few glasses of wine over Xmas and New Year and not feel guilty!

Oops! You even...

Well thought it was anyway - only spotted for a few days. Just doesn't seem to get going. Not sure what is going on now (don't anybody mention implantation bleeding I don't want to go there and don't feel pg). Was so excited when I thought it had come - getting back to normality. Now I haven't a clue what to expect next

Ovulation bleed perhaps?? or maybe this first one will be a bit different until things settle down. How frustrating for you.

After my last m/c I had a couple of funny bleeds that I wasn't sure if they were periods or not - kind of coming and going .... but then I got pg before I had anything else! I think the kind of thing you describe is fairly common - I don't remember having it the other 2 times but was VERY frustrated with it the last time - oh and ds is now 10 months so I was fine in the end!

susanmt · 05/12/2002 22:24

And good luck - hope it all works out well for you!

After my m/c I had no bleeds at all. And I hardly bled after the D and C I needed. I knew that I was ovulating, and I had awful period pain, but no bleed. I had a rare condition called Asherman's syndrome, where the walls of the uterus stick together. It took me ages to convince my GP that I knew I was ovulating, and that I was having period pains. He told me to go away and stop worrying about things. It took surgery and year of treatment to put things right, thankfuly I went on to have Dd and Ds with no further problems.

So even if you haven't had a 'true' period, it is still a very good sign that everything still works. Good luck, and very best wishes.

hmb that sounds terrible. Thank goodness it worked out for you in the end. I know this whole thing would be so much harder to bear if I didn't have my two to keep me going.

Had another funny day of spotting at the weekend, all excited again and then it just stopped. So frustrating. Never thought I'd be so desperate to have a period before. I get excited at the tiniest cramp. Oh well put a whole new perspective on periods for me. I'm sure its all just building up to give me a "lovely" surprise on Christmas day

I've got my green light too! 8 weeks plus 2 days after my d&c. I had a mini bleed exactly 4 weeks later, but only for a few hours. This is more like the real thing. Babies seem to be all around me these days......I've been very weepy today, probably my hormones , but I am pleased that waiting for that 1st (2nd?) cycle is finally over. We're going to Italy for a week in September and am going to pray for one of those 'holiday conceptions' you read about! Anyone else in a similiar situation?
