I don’t even know where to begin or what to even say, my heart is completely broken. My friend was tragically killed on my child’s first birthday. I can’t even begin to describe how gutted I am, I don’t even know how to feel about the situation.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Do you have someone with you for support?

Would it help to tell us a little about your friend?

Oh goodness. I am so so sorry. What a confusing mix of emotions you must be feeling now. I'm sorry I'm useless and have no words of wisdom really but didn't want to read and run.

Oh that's very sad. I'm so sorry about your friend Flowers

I don’t even know how to feel about the situation Entirely understandable, shock takes quite a while to wear off, don't rush, be very careful and kind to yourself.

Hold your daughter tight, as I’m sure they’d want you to

So very sorry for your loss and for it to happen on an exciting and looked forward to day for your daughter/family. A friend lost her Mum years ago on NYE and she found it very difficult to celebrate in fact I don't think she ever did again. You obviously don't have that option.

DH died on my son's 30th birthday (DH was his step-dad) so I empathise with the confusion you are experiencing. I don't think there is a right, or a wrong, way to feel, are you getting some support?
