Has anyone used Settld to notify organisations about a death?

I have just started the stressful process of notifying organisations about the death of my mother. Where possible I am avoiding phoning organisations as it is so heartbreaking to speak about her in the past tense.

When I googled the bereavement section of her local Water company it directed me to Settld. which is a ‘tell us once’ type service for notifying banks, utility companies and insurance companies.

I hadn’t heard of them and feel nervous about supplying such personal information with them without doing more research.

It says it is a free service that takes some of the stress of bereavement admin, but it sounds too good to be true, despite good reviews on Trustpilot.

Sorry about your loss.
When I lost my dad last September and then my mum in February I was gives a letter from the registrar when I registered their deaths called ‘Tell us once’.

This dealt with Government type agencies though private pensions, utilities etc were not included.

Good luck - I discovered dealing with these 2 losses became a full time job - selling their home and dealing with their bank accounts alone is all consuming and I’ve spent hours and hours on the phone.

I used Tell us Once and they were very efficient. They were suggested by the Registrar.

Did you use Settld in the end? I am in a similar position with an energy company suggesting I use it and I am not sure.
