Any info on how to view public Births Deaths and Marriages online - ie what website ?
And
If a person died a few weeks ago in November , what would be the rough timescale to be able to view it?

the local register office has to send the details of all births, deaths and marriages to the general register office. This will be done periodicly and then once this information has been collected by the general register office they will put this on to the index of birth deaths and marriages.

birth, death and marriage certificates are not available to view online - only the indexes.

If you need to order a copy of a death certificate you can telephone the local register office in the district where the death took place to obtain a copy certificate - or wait approx 6 months to order from General register office

the general register office is like the head office and in southport

the local register office is the satellite office for each district

gro.gov.uk though there's an art to it. I've been doing family history for 25 years.
