i've bought both, but not sure which one to give her! i know she likes to do things for her ds, it's one of our friends ds's 1st birthday the day after and she's bringing a cake for her ds to his party and i know she'll buy him presents... i'm just not sure what the right thing to do is??

Not a birthday card - I agree with others here on that. But send something on the birthday, or go to see her.

Perhaps on the birthday a more cheerful blank card with a personel thinking of you message rather than a somber thinking of you card with flowers or what ever on it.

a thinking of you card having lost a child she will be more than aware it is 1 year birthday. be empathic, supportive let her talk, if she wishes acknowledge her loss

you sound like a thoughtful friend
