It's my dads birthday today

And the day he started getting poorly last year, the beginning of the end really and I can't stop crying.

I almost bought him a birthday card because for a moment I forgot he was gone and then when I remembered it was like going through the grief again.

I know the grief process isn't a straight road but ... it just fucking sucks.

I miss and love you dad, happy birthday.

Sorry for your loss.

It’s so sad when I think back too. One minute things are normal and the next they will never be the same again. It sucks. Big time. Sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss, write everything down in the card that you would of told your dad if he was here, really sorry for your loss, birthdays are always really hard xx

I lost my dad just before Christmas and it was his bday last week. I don't have anything wise to say but I know exactly how you feel.

❤️

I'm so sorry for your loss. I couldnt walk down the card aisle of my local supermarket without crying for years after my dad died.

I always like to mark my dad's birthday by doing something he would approve of. He had a spring birthday so usually we go out in the garden, or visit a museum, or listen to one of his favourite orchestral works.

Happy birthday to your beloved dad. You carry his love in your heart, always.

I'm so sorry for your loss, op. The grief never really leaves you, it just gets a little easier to bear as time goes on. My dear Dad died 23 years ago and I still feel so sad about him. I'd give my right arm to spend another 5 minutes with him. I can feel the tears coming now, just thinking about him . Take care of yourself , op.

Sorry for your loss.Flowers
It would be my dad's birthday too today. He would be 85.
8 yrs without him, but it does get easier.

Birthdays/ Anniversaries/ Christmas are really hard to cope with.
Actually, on my Dd's and Mum & Dads birthday, I buy a card and take it to the cemetery.
The first year is surreal because you are always thinking back to last year.
Take care of yourself.

Happy birthday, Mr Heck!
All anniversaries are horrible. When your mind slips to them and you know they'd be enjoying themselves so much if they were there. It's six years and it's still not got that much easier for me. I miss and think about him every day. I'm crying just writing this.
Hope you manage to concentrate on all the happy times and know that he'd not want you to spend your time grieving but that he'd want you to enjoy your life.

I'm sorry for your loss.

Happy birthday to your (late) dad. My mum died in 2014 - she's never far away.

Pinkchocolate · 18/01/2022 22:32

I’m sorry for your loss. This time last year was the beginning of the end for my precious dad too so I feel your pain. I don’t have any advice, it’s horrible but I do wish you comfort and I hope those around you are kind to you.
