My friend died yesterday..

..and I feel so overwhelmingly sad. I just need to tell someone. I need to make some calls but I'm waiting until tomorrow so that I dont ruin Christmas day for other friends.

She has been ill on and off for a few months. In and out of hospital and they couldn't really find out what was wrong. I had a call earlier to tell.me she died Christmas Eve in the afternoon. She was 55 years old.

55. FFS. Thats nothing. She worked hard her whole life and was hoping to retire early next year..and now she has gone.

We've been friends for more than 30 years and I cant believe I'm never going to hear her voice again.

She adored my teen DS. Always snuck him £20 and spoiled him at Christmas and birthday. He is very sad too. But also worried about me - just made me an unasked for cuppa.

It's just so sad.

My sister in law died yesterday evening also. She was 42 and I'm gutted. Left behind a 21yr old & a 7yr old. I've not felt festive since.

I am so sorry for the loss of your lovely friend. We lost mum a few weeks ago and nor hearing her voice again, hurts more than anything.

I will be thinking of you and your very sweet DS.

I’m so sorry to hear that you have lost a dear friend. Sadly I understand and six months on Christmas has been crushing. I can’t even imagine what you are going through especially with feeling like you can’t call people and share your loss.

I have no advice except think of how proud she’d be of you.

I'm 50 next year and I've lost 3 friends last couple years. It's really got me thinking.
