Hello wise people of mum's net.

At some point, when covid allows, will have a tree planting and burial of ashes for my baby i lost around the 20 week mark. I'm still sure that i want to do this, it's the right place and things.

Sorry i tried to do a paragraph and it went and posted. I just don't know what actually happens or what i want to happen. Do people play music and do readings or is it low key. I don't know what i want, some days i think i just want me and my partner as i don't know how i'm going to get through it. other times i want people there to mark the occassion . I'm finding it all a bit overwhelming. I think id like to know what other people did. I know i'm overthinking it. i think it's built up as well as lock down has delayed it so much - we could still have it done now but we couldn't do the tree planting and we have waited so long i really want to be the one who plants the tree, not stand by and watch other people do it.

First of all, condolences on your loss.
Have you decided where you want to plant the tree? I would think you will need permission.
My friend’s dad died 2 years ago, he had been given 6 months to live and used his time planning his funeral.
He chose a woodland burial in a wicker coffin and a couple of trees.
AFAIK, my friend and her DH planted the trees, they have since planted bulbs for spring.
It might be worth contacting your local place for advice.
Take care

Thank you yes we have the plot paid for and tree selected that was meant to have been done 3 years ago. I guess its more what we do on the day there, do people do readings and play music while it happens. It's a forest by a lake so we will walk round the lake afterwards
