16 years on is it to late to find out more?

My father died in 2005. I was a teen at the time and he died at his partners home on the other side of the country. I knew he was ill and I saw him before his death but not much in the short illness that took him.

I wasn't invited to the funeral (attended anyway) and don't know where he is scattered.

I've found the address of the partner is it to late to ask questions?
