So my lovely best friend died unexpectedly in may .. completely devastated me. I'd been with her only two weeks before.. known her for nearly 20 years .. now nearly 7 months on I'm still really struggling, just miss her so much , my mental health isn't great at the moment anyway, I don't have many friends due to my mental health issues and I just feel very lonely

Very sorry for your loss. I lost my best friend very suddenly 2 years ago - a year in I couldn't get over it, the grief was all consuming and I felt I would never meet anyone like her or have such a close girlfriend again - she was my person in life. I haven't met anyone else like her, or such a close friend, but I stuck out counselling and it really did help. I feel grateful to have had her in my life and am able to think about her now without spiralling into dark thoughts.
