I'm asking for a friend, who m/cd nearly two weeks ago at 8 weeks. She bled for 6 days, and has no bleeding for six days. Now today she is bleeding again. Is this normal please? She doesn't have any other symptoms, and no significant pain.

Hello, I am not really sure, but thought you would appreciate a response from someone! My bleeding was quite variable, some days I bled heavily and other days there was barely any bleeding.
Other friends have talked about intermittent bleeding but I don't know if it is "normal" or OK to not bleed for a week then to start again. Does she have a number at the hospital she could call? My hospital gave me a 24 hour number I could call with any questions.
Hope things work out OK.

Thanks Kitpuss. I tried to convince her to see a doctor - she hasn't yet seen a doctor since the m/c - at least for her own reassurance, because she is clearly worried.

As kitpuss said mine was the same.

I bled on and off for about 6wks. Could have days with no bleeding then days when bleeding was realy heavy.

thanks Lizziemum. 6 weeks is a long time for on and off bleeding.

I bled for just a week following a m/c, which is why I'm not sure if what she is experiencing is normal or not.

I had bleeding on and off for about 8-10 weeks. In the end I had a D & C as my body couldn't quite clear everything on it's on and kept gushing blood trying to do so.

I would tell your friend to see the doctor.

Thanks Furball. I hope she has seen a doctor.
