Any books I can read that help with bereavement?

We buried my beautiful mum yesterday and I'm feeling bereft. Has anyone read a book that helped them? Thanks.

So sorry to about your mum op. I’ve lost my parents recently and you know I ever thought about this so can’t recommend anything. There will be some. I found (boring) time helped. Also talking aloud every now and then and having some small stuff around which I found comforting. For a short time I took my baby blanket (found in her house) to bed with me. Really tough. Support.

I have read and reread Tear Soup it is wise, kind and beautiful.

Lifetimes is also beautiful. Aimed at children but a beautiful meditation for adults on the meaning of having a lifetime.

For some reason another visually beautiful book has come into my mind
The Kiss when you are thinking about your lovely mum and her love for you.

I have just passed the first anniversary of my dear dad’s death. Sending you love and a virtual hug.

The one book I found helpful was On death and dying by Kubler-Ross. It tapped right into my rational side.

I agree with Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. I also had a little book of grief when my brother died, and I got copied for my mum and sister as well.
I’ll try and find the name and let you know.

So sorry for your loss OP. I lost a second brother five days after my mother died. This was the only thing that made sense to me. It does change. Life is never the same but you do live again xxx flowers 💐

This slim volume was given to me when I put my dying DH on the donor pathway. It is peerless in its level-headed advice, the balance given to those bereaved and those who support them.

Also "How We Die" by Nuland Sherwin which I bought 25 years earlier after a sibling died.

Here’s the book OP, Healing After Loss. My mum still reads it 8 years after we lost my brother.
I found it so helpful as grief is a trauma which affects the ability to store and retain information. I couldn’t read a book for a year after my brother died.
This book is set out in little snippets so you can absorb the words in bit size pieces, not have to read through lengthy paragraphs.
