just out of interest, when did they start again? I've always been as regualr as clockwork - every 28 days but since my mc - 31 days agao - there's been nothing and I don't feel like anything is imminent if you know what I mean. I'm keen to start trying again asap becasue of my age so tying to be patient is a nightmare. does your body take a while to restart itself after something like this?
grateful for any ideas

Bubu - I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage and bad experience with the Quee Mum's. I too had a missed miscarriage dealt with by the Queen Mum's last summer (similar timings to you - wnet in for scan/CVS but the baby had already died) but my experience was very different to yours - they couldn't have been nicer with how they dealt with it.

The one thing I WOULD advise is TO TAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF!!!!! I just took one day off after the D&C and then continued to work f/t (I also have a ds who was 3 then). I "justified" it by saying I was covering for colleagues who were on holiday but that I was doing a slightly shortened day (to placate my supportive boss).

I struggled on until mid November and then ended up having to take 6 weeks off(I'd been seeing a counsellor and she had been trying to get me to see for weeks that I needed to take time off and in the end my boss practically forced me off).

If you're in Glasgow and want to talk, get in touch re Contact a Talker. I work just off the city centre (Berkeley Street) and live in Pollokshields.

Another bit of good advice I was given was to expect your hormones - and therefore your emotions - to be all over the place for a while. SO don't be surprised if you find yourself having "irrational" mood swings.

Look after yourself. {{{{{}}}}}}

Can sympathise with all your stories.

On the subject of

Periods after miscarriage - I had a miscarriage on 23rd August 2004 and passed everything myself. Started bleeding on the Friday, had a routine scan the Monday 23rd and found out I had only the sac left and then the Monday 23rd passed all the products of conception (including large lumps of liver stuff) that night. Was booked for a ERPC on the Tuesday but was re-scanned and didn't need it.

Has a period 6 weeks later on the 30th September, and now nothing since. I haven;t had a period for 62 days now.

No HCG in blood test, no physiological reason for not having a period and desperately trying to conceive.

Makes it worse that my sister's baby is due on 15th December so everyone in my family is baby mad today.

Also I work as a physio and cover the maternity ward so seeing babies all the time.

Have anyone else's periods been as erratic as mine !
