Found out I had had mmc in mid Aug, nothing happened naturally so had an evac on Sept 3rd. Did not bleed much after really, just few drops here and there for a few days then stopped.
However, about a week ago I started getting a brown/red discharge - a bit like the colour of old blood but much thinner watery consistency. Not much at all (like 2 pant liners worth a day) so I don't think it's my AF but not sure if this is normal?

Sorry for you lost
I have a mmc Aug 06 and followed with an ERPC, i bleed normal for 3 days, then nothing for 6 weeks, this is probley very normal but if you are concerned always ask your gp. If it any hope, i feel pg 2 months later and had a baby boy in Aug 07 x

Congrats on your baby Pink!
Hopefully it is normal then, might call the docs if still bad on Monday. Still bleeding today but only the same kind of quantity.
I guess in the back of my mind I am wondering if I had caught again and am losing again...?

If things don't 'get back to normal' soon, please see a Doctor - you need to ensure that things are really OK - and don't get fobbed off - you at least need to have a blood test to confirm that HCG levels back to normal. It can take several cycles to get back to normal (me, last autumn) - and bleeding can go on and off until it is. But, you do need to get back to your normal cycle relatively soon with no bleeding in between. Also, don't let Doctor's fob you off if things are not getting back to normal.

Fingers crossed for you that it all sorts itself out soon.

Hi there-having experienced a mmc myself in March 2004 i also had the ERPC and bled for a few weeks (2/3). Towards the end of the 3rd week i had awful headaches in the daytime then cramps and alot of pain during that night and passed alot of (sorry if too much info)Flesh/clots/tissue and they were fist size and i passed at least a dozen of them within an hour. Got taken to hospital and apparantly it was either an infection due to ERPC or some tissue still left behind (as they do not actually 'see' inside the womb whilst doing the op) Lucky for me i had it treated with drugs and they did mention doing another ERPC but it cleared up almost straight away. My advice is aslong as you are in no pain and the loss isn't unusal in appearance-you are probably alright. So sorry to hear of your loss-it is a very painful time. I was 11wks pregnant when it happened. I went on to have my Son in August 2005 so good luck to you....xxxx

Hi, I just wanted to re assure you. I bled for 5 months on and off before finally passing some more clots and then periods went pretty much back to normal. HCG was high all this time and kept having scans but still some left. They did an ERPC but didn;t get all of it. It was very hard at the time and I thought I was abnormal it going on for so long. It did go away. I conceived again and miscarried again and this time it took a few days. scan showed clear after a week. That was such a relief to have a 'normal' miscarriage. I conceived again and had a girl. I have bled in every one of my six pregenancies. 2 were successful. wishing you success with future pregnancies. hugs xx

Thanks Camber, it does help to know I am not alone in this.
I called EPU and they told me it could be just a wierd/different to usual period as they had taken away my uterus lining with the evac. Also could have caught again and be losing again. Then told to go to docs - did HCG test and still high (i.e. positive PG test) so they took blood on Friday and will again on Wed. Once levels have been compared prob have to go back to EPU for another scan. This waiting is the pits!!

I had a light lochia maybe lasting two weeks, getting increasingly brown. It did however turn bright red on exertion. Normal periods returned around a month later.

Thanks Scary - had bright red last night, maybe is coming to an end - who knows! seems to be taking forever - I had thought it would be quicker after an evac
