How do I face a meet up with mumsnetters who are pregnant after I miscarried, or maybe I should just not go.

Tricky one. Are you worried they'll be spooked by you miscarrying or are you worried their pregnancies will upset you?

Or, look at it this way. Presumably you'll TTC again. You'll be on MN and pregnant. Why wait until then to meet other MNers? I guess when you are pregnant it will be useful to know some friendly names here from whom you can get a bit of advice.

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage by the way.

why not give it a miss this time if you feel sad? you could even tell them that you feel sad and i am sure they will be hugely understanding and before you know it, you will be joining in again

Thankyou for your relpies, the hard thing is I won't be able TTC again. I have health problems and threw caution to the wind by conceiving last time. I have a very lovely three year old son and loving partner I have decided not to risk my health getting any worse by trying for another pregnancy I am also over 40 so the risks involved are just too high. I was really craving a second child but am now coming to terms with the fact that that is not possible for us now and trying to focus on what I have, which is wonderful. Saying that I am still feeling our recent loss and much as I'd love to be involved with this meetup not only do I think it would too hard emotionally for me but I don't want to make these lovely women feel awkward (three of them are pregnant) There you are I just answered my own question... it's too soon for me...the healing process does take time doesn't it

there are loads of lovely mums and dads with one child - maybe hang out with them a bit more? loads at our school! they are all moving on to cool jobs/more holidays etc etc!

Kjaysmum I'm so sorry. Firstly that you're still grieving, which is quite understandable, and secondly for my huge assumption that you would TTC again. I was wrong to make that assumption and should have been more sensitive that there could be other things involved. I'm sorry if that just churned things up more for you.
Will be thinking of you.

Hey PM it's ok, you were only tying to help. Newgirl you are so right, we do have a little one and only club going here, as only children need their friends even more so and we ae so lucky to be surrounded by such lovely folks with kids. Shit as I was writing this I just got a phone call to say our best friends are pregnant with their second. I'm so happy for them but it's such bitter/sweet emotion I'm feeling, I wish I didn't feel like this...I just can't quite move on
