Hello I have tried searching on here for advice and thought to post. We will meet my mother soon and it’s been 2 months my dad passed. I have not mentioned this to my 2.5yo son but it’s probably going to come up. He will possibly understand but I am not sure to try and tell him now, wait until we meet grandma or if he asks. Any opinions please thank you in advance

How close were they? How often did he see him pre covid 19? Has he been asking about? Will he ask about when sees your mum?

Kids of this age often don't notice someone is missing (unless very close) and even then don't understand....
If say they'd look after him few times a week and asking about i'd tell him granny is sad like mummy because grandad is no longer here...
If not that close, honestly my gut reaction would be to leave it. I realise that would feel odd and probably doesn't sit well... Especially for you as you've lost your Dad..

I'm sorry for your loss
