Just found out that my best friend has lost her baby. No movements for couple of days, got checked out at hosp and no heartbeat. Baby confirmed as died in uterus. She has been given something to induce labour and sent home, with instruction to return on fri am if not before. She has her dh around for support but I just feel useless and any info on what is to come and how to be the best support/use, even practical advice/tips as to what needs to be sorted out would be much appreciated, TIA

Seeyouanon - just checking in on how things went with your friend? Am sure your concern will have helped even in the smallest way at such an awful time. You sound like a true friend indeed

only just seen this. how is your friend? i wanted to post as soon as i saw this as the very same thing happened to my friend 16 weeks ago. she was 36 weeks, it doesnt bear thinking about does it? myself and her other friends have spoken to her regularly and she knows she can talk to us whenever she wants and to cry whenever she wants. they had a funeral at their local church and was just for close relatives ie parents. she has waited a long long time for post mortem results though and only got them last week. she has found great support on mumsnet actually. perhaps in time you might recommend it to your friend? hugs to you and your friend
