My 4 year old DS keeps saying he misses his great nanny, and he can't understand that she's not coming back

He seems to be quite affected by news of my nan's death, and keeps saying "I miss nanny x", and sometimes crying.
He said last night "When she comes back, I'm going to give her a hug"
He doesn't seem to understand that she is not coming back & it is heartbreaking.

Don't be silly, yelnats, of course I feel for you, there is nothing worse than losing someone you love. You talk all you like, I know exactually what that head in the clouds feeling is like.x

DS2 has mentioned his great nanny several times again today. He says he wants her to come out of the star.
A friend suggested maybe letting him have a photo of her, but looking at her photo seems to upset him more.

My mum has said tonight that she doesn't think I should have told him about nan, but I explained it as carefully as I could. I couldn't have just left it & never said anything.
