Can anyone give me hope after mc?

I've just had my second missed miscarriage in 9 months. The first baby that I lost had taken 16 months to conceive and the second 6 months. I'm 41 now and am starting to lose hope about ever having another baby. Has anyone had any positive experiences of pregnancy after miscarriage.

I had two miscarriages before conceiving DD. When I had my first scan with DD and saw a live baby I went into shock and walked around in a daze for hours. I'm sorry you're going through this. Hang in there and be kind to yourself. xx

Hi birthdaycake,
I'm so so sorry for your losses.
I had a m/c 2 years ago and have since had my son and I know of many many women who have had successful pregnancies after miscarriage, including many who have had multiple miscarriages. There is a lot of reason to have hope.

I know of a really supportive miscarriage forum on tinternet which might help you:

All the best.

I had a missed m/c almost 2 years ago and am now 32 weeks pregnant with twins. Never believed this pg would get past 16 weeks but it has and I wish you all the luck in the world xxx

I'm sorry for your losses, bc.

I had one mc before ds, and two more (in immediately consecutive cycles) after. Four months after the last mc I conceived again, a little unexpectedly, and am now 28 weeks.

I'm glad to hear that things have picked up for you Berolina. It's the kind of thing that I need to hear right now to keep me going.

I had 2 missed m/c in 6 months at 42 and was convinced I was too old to try again. Within 3 months of the 2nd m/c I was pg again (aged 43) and had my DD 3 months ago just before my 44th birthday.

There seems substantial evidence that your fertility goes up after mc so I think you can have hope. I have a mmc last year and am currently pg again. All the best to you it is a horrible time.

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 09/07/2007 23:56

Im 40 next week and am 19 weeks pg following 5wk m/c last oct

It CAN happen

Good luck

I was 41 and in despair after mmc too - it did take 14m to conceive the pg that is now DS1 who was born when I was 42, but then amazingly I had ds2 16m later at 43 so yes my experience ended up very positive. I too had given up hope and it was a truly dreadful time. Don't lose hope, we get the babies we are meant to get, when we are meant to get them.
