19 year ago today my dad passed away suddenly. I'm still just as much of a mess. I can't help but think about how much he's missed, i feel like I've let him down. He always had such high hopes for me and I've hardly achieved anything over the years. Everyone seems to have moved on and forgotten, i haven't even heard from my siblings yet today

I'm so sorry to hear this. A sudden death can leave you in shock which can last a long time. Have you ever had any counselling?
Grief feels like a much lonelier place if you feel like you are the only one feeling like this, sending love to you xx

I'm sure you haven't let him down and he wouldn't want you to think like that. Sending you love aswell x

My dad died 11 years ago in November. I still miss him very much. His death was sudden and I didn’t get to say goodbye.
My sense of loss stems from the fact that he’s missed out on getting to know my children who are 14 and 12. They don’t remember him now which is inevitable.
My fil is disinterested in my children and it makes me angry as he has the chance to be with them and chooses not to, while I know my dad would have loved to have been given that chance.
It’s funny but I was sat in my car a few days before the anniversary and a robin sat on my side mirror on and off for 30 minutes. My dad loved birds and I take comfort from the fact that he was letting me know he is still there. Stupid I guess but it gave me comfort.
It’s all still so hard isn’t it.
