new to the site just had 6th m/c: help

hi all, stumbled across your site, found no heartbeat on scan at 7 wks and 4 days, on Thursday.have appt at St Marys tomorrow and dreading that they suggest ERPC, already had twice before. I have unexplained m/c, but was taking heparin and progesterone, seemed to be going ok, had "strong htbeat" at 6 weeks and this was the furthest I'd ever got with a pregnancy although I did get to 10 wks once but baby had died at 6. That doesnt really make sense does it? I cant believe that this has happened again and feel someone has got it in for us. Has anyone else got unexplained recurrent m/c?

I cant offer any advice but wanted to say welcome to mumsnet boscy and I feel sure that by the end of the evening you will have had some posts from other mumsnetters who have had similar experiences and can give you more support.
So sorry to hear about your losses. I'm sure someone on here can offer you some more hope.

Hi Boscy, so very sorry to hear about your losses. I really do hope that they are testing you...I have had 4 with no successful pregnancy's so I can feel for you. This site will really help you with support, everyone is very kind and who knows, mabey someone will have some info for you.

Bocsy, I had 2 very early m/cs last year, but what you've had to deal with sounds awful . Are the people at St Mary's supportive? Have you contacted the Miscarriage Association at all? Lesley Regan's book on miscarriage may be useful, if you haven't found already. There are lots of supportive people on here, too.

Hi boscy,
I know after 3 m/c they do test, When you go to the hospital ask the doctor about these test and when can you get them done.. I have had 2 m/c in the last 3 years i can understand your pain..
A friend of mine had test done, she went on asprine to thin out the blood, she had 3 m/c..
Have the test done and it may shed light for you..
You will find alot of support in this site..

Hi Boscy - so sorry about your losses. I had 2 mcs, then baby (18 months old) then 3 mcs all in a row- all over last 12 months. We are still trying and have had some tests done. Incredibly still waiting for results after 3 months. Local hospital (Cheltenham) not very helpful. Am prepared to remortgage the house to go to St Mary's recurrent miscarriage clinic. It is such a bugge isn't it. Are you in Miscarriage Association. I am. there is a conference in London on 15 or 16 October and I am considering whether or not to go to meet similar folk to me. hate to feel alone. Lots and lots of love to you. Let me know how you are. Have they any idea what is worng?

Hi Boscy, Sorry to hear about your miscarriages. I know how you are feeling as I have suffered three miscarriages and also one ectopic pregnancy. Thankfully I do have a son - almost 4 years old - but no one knows why I have lost his 4 potential siblings and I feel so guilty.
I have had several tests (ovulation, clotting, platelets, blood grouping, partners sperm, etc) and all have come back ok. We are now waiting to see if one of us has a chromosome problem resulting in each pregnancy having a 50% chance of survival. As I have been pregnant 5 times but only one successful outcome - surely that is a 20% success rate for me?
The wait is awful...but this site is a real help to me.

hi there in similar position myself, ive had 2 and it is the hardest thing i have ever ever had to deal with, sending you all the hugs in the world and hope soon you get your dream x

Hi Boscy I have had 8 mcs and have 4 children .I had 1 before my eldest followed by 3 after him it was at that point that I had tests .They took loads of blood and found that I have a problem with my blood anticardiolipids which make my blood sticky.I was then given asprin and anti coagulant injections everyday.I gave birth to my eldest daughter.I then went on to have 3mc between my daugters and one before my son.The last 4 were with treatment.The most important thing is to try and stay postive not easy I know but it will all be worth it.My yougest son fought really hard to be born I bled from week 6 to week 30 and went into labour at 16 weeks but he survived it and it will happen for you.
Try again as soon as you are ready and get them to send you for tests.

hi boscy, welcome to mumsnet. Sorry it was your m/c that brought you here - it's a great site for support and venting and asking questions....
Are you asking for a referral to a recurrent m/c clinic?
I've had 2 m/c, both without a reason. I did have tests done after the second one (between them I had a termination due to multiple abnormalities) but this was done by my GP as St Mary's wouldn't accept a referral. Everything came back 'normal' which of course I wasn't hoping for - had really hoped for a reason for them happening.
The heartache is awful and there isn't an easy way through it all, I've had a lot of dark dark days in the past year or two. One thing I'll never forget is the dates, or when the m/c happened and then the due dates too.
There are quite a lot of us around who are pregnant - or recently had a new baby - after recurrent m/c, I know you'll get a lot of support here. I am one of them - I am 24 weeks pregnant and feel truely blessed to be so.
I've just seen the date of your message - how did you get on at the appt? Thinking of you and hope you get some answers very soon
