Sudden death of husband and carrying on business

It’s really weird for me to be doing this as I’m not on any other social media as never felt the need. My husband died suddenly and unexpectedly 15 weeks ago and I have been left with a business 2 step children of 33 and 29 who live at home and 2 of our own 22 and 19. I have had to take over the running of the business which includes my stepson being employed by me. Things are difficult at the moment with him and someone else as they seem to think that they should be paid more than they get at the moment. I have lost my husbands wage so am not earning as much and even after explaining this to them they don’t seem to get that there is no more money to pay them. Has anyone been in a similar situation or can give advice would be more than appreciated. I miss him every day.

I have no experience of running a business but I wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss.
Did your husband make a will?
Do you have an accountant for the business?
Thise are the immediate things that come to mind.

Hi I'm sorry for your loss.

What type of business is it?

Is it a limited company?

I am so sorry for your loss.

Is it realistic for the business to be able to employ your stepson and the other person without your husband being part of the business? What kind of business is it?

Do you have to be the one to take it over?
Could your stepson?

So sorry for your loss.
I wouldn't be making any decisions at the moment and they shouldn't be pushing you to either. Until you get your head around the business and have sought advice.
Was there or is there another partner that could advise you?
