My darling dad passed yesterday. He’d been sick for so long I wasn’t a surprise....but I still feel completely numb and sick.

So sorry to hear that OP. At least your dad is free of pain . Look after yourself .

My dad died very much expectedly 3 months ago. He was so very ill that I wanted nothing else for him (and me, if I am being completely honest), but it has hit me surprisingly hard. There's no preparing for it, really, even if we tell ourselves different.

very sorry to hear of your loss - its never easy surprise or expected. Just be as kind to your self and those close to you as possible.

I'm 2 weeks in and even though it was expected, the last 2 weeks have been surreal as well as sad.
