Poem for a friend who's Wife just lost a baby?

Hi guys,

My friend and his Wife just had to terminate a pregnancy due to medical conditions.

I am totally at a loss on what to say, does anyone have any appropriate poems which can articulate this?

Agree with lapin. Taste in poetry is very personal and if you inadvertently went too intellectual or too mawkish for them at such a tragic time it could be unappreciated. I wouldn't do it unless I knew someone very well and was almost sure they would find a particular poem meaningful.

kateandfelicity - as someone who has recently been through similar what we most appreciated were honest sentiments etc - someone who'd listen when we wanted to talk and respect when you didn.t

Very sweet thought though.
