Baby aspirin. Mears, can you help?

I've read on here somewhere (ages ago) that some women with history of recurrent m/c's have taken baby aspirin to presumably thin the blood. I'm due to have my 5th iui on Wednesday. The last 2 have ended in m/s's so I want to give it every chance. How much should I take and for how long? Also, is it actually called baby aspirin. Any other suggestions gratefully received.

Thanks very much for that Twiglett. I was wondering if I should take it throughout pregnancy, or at least for the 1st 12 weeks? The aspirin I mean!

Delgirl - I would discuss this with the medical team caring for you. The baby aspirin I think you are talking about is the 75mg dose, however, although initially there were good reports about it I think it is less clear now. There are certain conditions where aspirin is needed due to abnormal clotting conditions in the mother. Aspirin is also used where there has been evidence of blood clots in the placenta. I have seen asprin been taken until 36 weeks but that was for a specific condition. Do ask your doctors if they recommend it.

Thanks again Twiglett and to you to Mears. I will ask them on Wednesday. The trouble is there are 2 consultant's where I go and they seem to have differing opinions. I almost get the impression that whatever you say, they will go along with in a way rather than tell you what they really think iykwim. Thanks again
