I found out last week that i had had a missed miscarrige and had the ERPC procedure on friday (13th) to remove the baby. After the op i blead for about 2hrs and then it stopped. Since sunday ive been in terrible pain which was worse when i had a pooh, wee or had wind (sorry tmi). Last night i was stood talking to my dad when i felt a huge gush down belew. I actually thought that i had weed myself. Went to the loo and found that i was covered in blood. It was literally pouring from me for about 5 mins and the slowed down. Ive woke up this morning and the pain has more or less vanished but still bleeding. Could this be my period already? The surgeon said that i wouldnt get one for about 4 weeks. If its not my period, what could it be?

Sorry to hear about all you have been through. I'd contact your GP - dosen't sound like a period to me tbh. Take care of yourself.

anything 'pouring out' would have me at the very least ringing nhs direct. I would try and get in to DR today missnatalie

I phoned the ward that did the procedure and the staff nurse said that it sounds normal . She told me to pop up to the ward and the duty doc could see me. But im over 100 miles from home (staying at my mums for the week) so i cant do that. She told me that if i get worried or the pain / bleeding gets worse i should go to A&E. I was worried last night but not so much now as the bleeding has slowed down. Its more like the flow of a first day period.

I would see how you go over today then - as long as bleeding has slowed down and you don't have any unusaul tummy cramps etc then perhaps it is usual. If not then I would contact local GP.

have phoned NHS Direct and the nurse has called me back. She said that the bleeding could have come from where the baby was attached. She said that sometimes a scab forms and that when the scab comes off it can cause that sort of bleeding but shouldnt last too long . She said to keep and eye on it and if the flow gets heavier or i get pain then i need to go to A&E. Ive never heared anything like this, neither has my mum. But she's the professional so she must know what shes talking about. I did ask her about periods and she said that shes known of paitents getting their periods as early as 2 weeks after the op.

She also mentioned something about cervical adhesions. I had these after my EP op put didnt know that a ERPC op could cause them.

I had a similar pain and i had stopped bleeding but it started again, just like period flow not gushing like yours.

I went to the doctor and they said i had an infection and was put on antibiotics.

Doctor said if you stop bleeding and then start again its a sign of infection.

Please go to the Doctors for antibiotics. Take care

After my mc 6 years ago I had heavy bleeding after it seemed to have stopped and I also had an infection. The GP was lovely to talk to and she gave me 7 days of flucloxacillin for it - you dont want an infection in your uterus!!
They sampled the blood (TMI I'm sorry bu twhen I phoned for appointment they asked me to keep some of the flow and also took a HVS - High Vaginal Swab - which confirmed infection). and it took 2 weeks to settle down.

Hope you feel better soon, I know how hard it is!
